TMD Awards its First Scholarship to The Emancipator
The Marketing Democracy is honored to award its first scholarship to The Emancipator. The Emancipator (originally an abolitionist newspaper from the 1800’s) is a joint initiative of Boston University’s Center for Antiracist Research and The Boston Globe. The Emancipator is using The Marketing Democracy’s Five Step System to refine their brand story and to help market this resource for audiences who want to participate in the conversation on racial justice and equity.
Cristal Balis, Special Projects/Marketing Lead at The Emancipator shares her experience with the lessons and frameworks provided through the scholarship: “From the very first exercise, The Marketing Democracy helped me crystalize and capitalize on what makes my organization truly unique. I was able to get to those insights and, more importantly, leverage them, in a very short amount of time—something I have precious little of at our fast-growing startup. The Marketing Democracy is a crucial part of our marketing efforts at The Emancipator.”
